The first province on the list was Pangasinan; apt, because Pangasinan is known as the gateway to Northern Luzon (how else to start a great northern escapade, yeah?). Pangasinan means “place of salt,” because it’s the major producer of salt in the Philippines, and it’s biggest products involve the salty (and similarly delectable) “bagoong” and “alamang.”
Anyway, after meeting up in Katipunan at 4 AM on Day 1, we drove up to Pangasinan, 4 hours away, to have breakfast.

Anyway, we arrived at around 7 AM in Pangasinan (thank God for expressways and early dawn swift traffic), and grabbed breakfast at my friend’s place, where we goofed off and (like a normal group of friends would do when they visit the ancestral house of one of them) pried open photobooks.

After a few hours in Pangasinan, we marched back to the two cars that lugged us around, and after a 4 hour drive (where my friends and I belted out to Backstreet Boys, Aaron Carter, and Britney Spears), we metaphorically went back in time and arrived in Vigan.

[…] Part 1: Pangasinan […]
The swings look like fun! And I’m sure Vigan was lovely. 🙂
Haha they were loads of fun! Now that I think about it, my friend’s parents probably thought we were uncivilized youths fighting for the swings. :p And you’re from Cebu! Gah, Cebu’s my favourite province in the Philippines huhu
Really?? Yay! Come visit!
I’m there every other year! Haha
