I had a teacher once in elementary school (one of my favourites, actually) who would wait for me to get picked up by my dad before he would go home himself, even if it meant babysitting me far beyond his 8 hour workday. To pass the time, we’d talk about the countries I’ve been to and he’d talk of his own adventures as well. Finally, one day, when I was whimsically talking to him about how I can’t wait to travel the entire world, he went silent, and then said, “Travel the whole of the Philippines first. You can’t enjoy travelling the rest of the world when you haven’t fully experienced the beauty of home.”

Sagada is located in the central part of the Philippines, and is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province. It’s most famous for its hanging coffins, but it’s also home to tourist favourites such as spelunking, cliff diving, nature hikes, etc.
We went there last week as part of my organization’s outreach efforts, and while we did go there, teach, and help out in the community… I’d like to believe the learning wasn’t one-sided. After all, the best of life’s lessons are always the reciprocal kind.
Also, a bit of a caveat here, I don’t exactly like little kids (or humans, in general – I may or may not be kidding), but the kids in Sagada were really cool. I can’t wait to go back.

Not saying this to tease, but.. the person to your right (from my POV) kind of looks like you. I actually double checked before commenting because you might have edited the photo in a way that you made them all look like you.. :O 😆
